Learning Objectives: • Popular programming frameworks for developing Cloud applications, with a detailed description of the architecture of some of them • The architecture of the various distributed data stores from the leading Cloud providers • The semantics of the different data stores and their applicability for developing Cloud applications Required Materials: • Internet connection (DSL, LAN, or cable connection desirable) • Adobe Acrobat PDF reader (download for free at Adobe.com) • Access to Azure credits for workshops: Workshop #1 Required resource: Azure Blob Storage (Azure Blob Storage Emulator, AWS S3, or Local Files – possible substitution to Azure resources) Optional resource: Azure HDInsight (Local Apache Hadoop or AWS EMR Hadoop- possible substitution to Azure resources) Workshop #2 Azure Virtual Machines (Local VMs using VMWare or Virtual Box, AWS EC2 – possible substitution to Azure resources) Workshop #3 Azure Blob Storage (Azure Blob Storage Emulator, AWS S3, or Local Files – possible substitution to Azure resources) Workshop #4 Azure CLI and Virtual Machines (Local VMs using VMWare or Virtual Box, AWS EC2 – possible substitution to Azure resources) Project Azure Virtual Machines (Local VMs using VMWare or Virtual Box, AWS EC2) Technical Requirements: Access to course content online |
