Learning Objectives: How to model and analyze the free vibration of single-degree-of-freedom systems (SDOF) Analytical tools application in the design of engineering systems and devices How to derive equations of motion for SDOF systems using Newton/Euler laws How to analyze the effects of viscous damping in the free vibration response How to plot and interpret SDOF vibratory motion Required Materials: Required Prerequisite Learners will need to have successfully completed the course “Engineering Systems in Motion: Dynamics of Particles and Bodies in Planar Two-Dimensional (2D) motion” to be successful in this course.
