Learning Objectives: • Types of engineering materials used in manufacturing • A composite • A matrix • The difference between thermoset and thermoplastic matrices • A reinforcement and reinforcement forms • The pros and cons of composites • Composite applications Required Materials: Computer with system components Windows Computer: Make sure your Operation System is Windows 2000, XP Professional with Service Pack 2 or higher, and or Windows Vista Home Edition and higher. To access video content make sure you have Windows Silver Light 4 and Windows Media Player 9 and higher. Ensure you have administrative access or a local System Administrator available if the above requirements are not installed. Macintosh Computers: Make sure your Operating system is Mac OS X version 10.3.9 and higher. To access web content make sure you have Safari 5 or Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and higher. To access video content make sure you have Windows Silver Light 4 and Flip4Mac 2 and higher.
