Learning Objectives: Basic concepts and physics underlying infrared technology; Key systems engineering principles for design and performance of infrared and electro-optical sensors; Design and operating principles for electro-optical and infrared imaging systems; Infrared seeker and infrared search-and-track (IRST) system technology; Key component technologies used in electro-optical and infrared sensors; Evaluation tools for modeling electro-optical and infrared systems; Methodologies for analyzing sensor performance. Required Materials: Technical Requirements: Hard copy of course charts and associated text. The text is sufficiently detailed to eliminate most note taking. |
