Learning Objectives: • Modern energy management systems • State estimation • Economic operation • Network security • The smart grid • Modern scada systems • Distribution management system • Practical overview Required Materials: Technical Requirements: - Class notes (approximately 450 pages). - Power System Modeling Control and Operation by A.P. Meliopoulos; Book Draft, 800 pages. - A field trip and guided tour of the Georgia Power Company's Control Center on the last day of class (4:00 p.m. to approximately 7:00 pm). Transportation from Georgia Tech to the Georgia Power Company and back will be provided. |
