DEF 3505P - Fund Radar Signal (28 hrs) |
---|
Associated Term:
Fall 2024
Learning Objectives: Sampling rates and resolution in spatial, Doppler, and angle dimensions; Models of the deterministic and statistical behavior of radar signals; Moving target indication (MTI) and pulse Doppler processors for detecting targets in clutter; Simple and pulse compression waveforms to achieve resolution, sidelobe, and SNR requirements; Coherent and noncoherent integration and constant false alarm rate (CFAR) to meet detection goals; Single- and multi-target tracking algorithms and limitations on their accuracy; Basic concepts and design drivers for advanced adaptive processing algorithms for clutter and jamming suppression; 2D imaging radar (SAR) concepts and basic design parameters. Required Materials: Technical Requirements: Students receive the textbook Fundamentals of Radar Signal Processing, second edition by Mark A. Richards (McGraw-Hill, 2014) , as well as a hard copy and CD-ROM of the course viewgraphs. Students receive a copy of the MATLAB® tutorial demonstration software used in the course. |
