Learning Objectives: Select fast- and slow-time sampling rates for acquiring radar signals; Relate bandwidth, resolution, and sampling rates in range and Doppler; Model statistical fluctuations of radar signals; Evaluate the performance of MTI and Doppler processors; Select pulse compression waveforms; Predict automatic and CFAR detection performance; Understand basic concepts and design drivers for advanced GMTI and STAP algorithms; Analyze target tracking accuracy and understand basic target tracking algorithms; Understand imaging radar (SAR) concepts and determine basic design parameters; Apply these techniques to a variety of radar types. Required Materials: Technical Requirements: Students receive the textbook Fundamentals of Radar Signal Processing by Mark A. Richards (McGraw-Hill, 2014) Second Edition, as well as a hard copy and CD-ROM of course viewgraphs. |
