Learning Objectives: By the end of this class, students should be able to • self-monitor individual pronunciation problems • give a short, effective presentation appropriate for a general audience • use stress, rhythm, and intonation patterns in semi-controlled practices • restate main ideas and identify details in class listening exercises • understand and respond to intonation patterns and stressed words • make inferences • use academic listening strategies • take notes from lectures using abbreviations, symbols, and spatial organization • understand non-academic listening exercises Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
