Learning Objectives: Construct and explain a visual timeline of significant historical events that reflect the reasons that Atlanta is known as “the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement” (collaborative class project) Prepare and elaborate presentations on the short-term and long-term effects of segregation in schools and public spaces (group project) Analyze and evaluate the long-term effects of segregation in Atlanta through a panel discussion (individual contributions to class project) Coordinate group interactions and contributions to achieve collaborative projects Identify and compile information related to course topics during off-campus site visits and through online research Break down the short- and long-term effects of segregation in the U.S. and hypothesize the effects that segregation may continue to have in the future Required Materials: N/A Technical Requirements: N/A |
