Learning Objectives: List, describe and use strategies and techniques that are useful for reducing anxiety before and during an oral presentation. List, describe and use strategies and techniques that are commonly used to enhance the effectiveness of presentations for American audiences (e.g., use of voice, non-verbal cues, etc.). Produce an effective oral illustration and explanation/analysis of a procedure, chart or diagram. Prepare, organize and produce an effective oral presentation that describes or explains a specific point of view about a topic (e.g., a presentation that informs). Prepare, organize and produce an effective oral presentation that presents a specific point of view on a topic and attempts to persuade the audience to accept this point of view (e.g., a presentation that persuades). Judge the appropriateness of presentations made by others and propose changes that might enhance the effectiveness of those presentations for American audiences.
